Md Ettashamul Haque completed his BSc in 2025 and is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Central Florida.
Md Ettashamul Haque was a Research Assistant at the AVIS Lab under the supervision of Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan. He has started his PhD in the Department of Electrical Engineering in University of Central Florida. His research lies at the intersection of robotics, embedded AI, and intelligent human-machine interaction.
He previously earned his B.Sc. in Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Dhaka. His undergraduate research centered on the design and development of an intelligent bionic hand capable of intuitive human-machine interaction. As part of this work, he redesigned the mechanical structure of the prosthetic hand to improve joint stability, grip reliability, and actuation efficiency, while also developing an embedded ML framework for real-time hand gesture recognition using wearable accelerometer sensors. His research resulted in an IEEE conference publication titled “Development of an Accelerometer-based Data Acquisition System for Hand Gesture Recognition” on an embedded accelerometer-based data acquisition system for hand gesture recognition and an IEEE journal publication titled “Design and Evaluation of ADANet: A High-Fidelity Motion Acquisition Framework for Assistive Gesture-Based Interfaces”.
Research Interests: Robotic manipulation, bio-inspired robotics, prosthetics, embedded artificial intelligence, human-robot interaction, machine learning for edge devices, embedded systems, sensor fusion, and hardware-software co-design. He is particularly interested in developing intelligent robotic systems that tightly integrate mechanical design, electronics, and AI to enable robust and adaptive real-world autonomy.
