M A Batin is a Graduate Research Assistant at the CSAAg Lab and an MSc student in Biosystems Engineering at Mississippi State University. Currently, his work focuses on synthetic data generation for vision models and reinforcement learning (RL) policy training using digital twins. MA Batin was a Research Assistant at the AVIS Lab under the supervision of Dr. Md. Mehedi Hasan.
His previous experience includes a role as a Research Assistant at the MAIM Lab (University of Dhaka), under the guidance of Dr. Abhishek Kumar Ghosh and Dr. Niamh Nowlan, he worked on a Wellcome Leap - In Utero funded project (Title: Translation of a Wearable Fetal Movement Monitor towards Stillbirth Prevention), and helped develop a wearable device to monitor fetal movements aimed to reduce the occurrence of stillbirths. Prior to that, Batin graduated from the University of Dhaka with a B.Sc. in Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering, supervised by Dr. Md Mehedi Hasan. His fourth-year thesis resulted in a** Q1 journal** publication titled “WheatSpikeNet: an improved wheat spike segmentation model for accurate estimation from field imaging”.
Research Interests: Computer vision, image processing, and robotics applied to precision agriculture. Batin is interested in the use of digital twins and synthetic data to train the vision models and control policies needed for agricultural automation.
